Banana Nut Cheesecake Recipe

Banana Nut Cheesecake Recipe Crust:

1 cup chocolate wafer crumbs

1/4 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine crumbs and butter and press into the bottom of a 9 inch spring form pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes and set dessert aside to cool.

Filling:

2 (8 ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs at room temperature

1/2 cup mashed ripe banana

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

With electric mixer on medium speed, combine the cream cheee, sugar and banana until well blended. Add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition. Stir in the walnuts and pour the filling over the crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove form the oven and loosen the cake from the edge of the pan without removing the rim. Cool to room temperature.

Glaze:

1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

1 tablespoon water

1 tablespoon butter

Melt the chocolate chips, water and butter over low heat , stirring constatly until melted and smooth. Drizzle over the cheesecake and refrigerate 3-4 hours. Remove rim of pan before serving.
