Best springform pan?

by Amanda
(Indiana)

Hi,

I was just wondering if you have any advice as to which springform pan is the best to use for cheesecakes? I threw my old ones out because they did not hold well and started to fall apart. There are a lot of brands and I was wanting advice about which ones are the best to use, and the most cost efficient.

Thank you,
Amanda

Amanda,

I really don't know if any one brand is better than another. The best advice I can give you is to examine them before you buy.

The first pan I ever bought was just a very cheap one that you could tell was cheap by just holding it. It was very flimsy and the base didn't seat well in the rim. I always put a cookie sheet under it to catch any leaks that occurred.

The pan I use now is much sturdier and works much better, even though I do sometimes have leaks through the bottom.

I would just say that the best thing to do is examine the pans in the store to see how sturdy they appear and if the bottom seats well into the rim.

Good luck in finding a good pan and I hope you let me know if there is a particular brand you find that works well for you.
