Black Forest Cheesecake
Black Forest Cheesecake Crust:1 cup chocolate wafer crumbs 3 tablespoon melted butter Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the crumbs and butter and press into the bottom of a 9 inch spring form pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes and set aside to cool. Filling: 2 (8 ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened 2 eggs at room temperature 2/3 cup granulated sugar 1 (6 ounce) package of semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted 1/4 teaspoon almond extract With electric mixer on medium speed, combine the cream cheeses and sugar until well blended. Add the eggs one at a time and blend well after each addition. Blend in the melted chocolate and almond extract and pour over the crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Loosen the cake from the edge of the pan with a sharp knife but don't remove the rim. Cool to room temperature and then refrigerate for several hours.Remove the rim and top with the following topping before serving. 1 (21 ounce) can of cherry pie filling Frozen whipped topping, thawed Serves 12.
