Boston Cream Cheesecake Recipe

A baked cheesecake recipe that creates an impressive dessert

Boston Cream Cheesecake Recipe Ingredients:

1 (9 ounce) package yellow cake mix

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

2 eggs at room temperature

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/3 cup sour cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare the cake mix according to directions on the box and pour into greased 9 inch spring form pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Set aside to cool.

With electric mixer on medium speed, combine the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition. Blend in the sour cream and pour over the cake layer.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Loosen the cake from the edge of the pan but don't remove the rim. Cool to room temperature.

Topping:

2 (1 ounce) square of unsweetened chocolate

2 tablespoons water

3 tablespoons butter

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

Boil the water and remove from the heat. Melt the chocolate and butter over low heat until smooth. Add the water, powdered sugar and vanilla and mix well. Spread over the cheesecake and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Remove rim of pan before serving.

Serves 12.
