Cheesecake Brownie Bars
Two delicious tastes in one cream cheese dessert recipe.
Cheesecake Brownie Bars Ingredients:
1 large box brownie mix (13x9 inch pan size)
4 (8 ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs at room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 squares of semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
Additional melted chocolate for garnish if desired
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare brownie mix as directed on the package and pour into a 9x13 inch baking pan that has been sprayed with non stick cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until the center is almost set.
While the brownies are baking, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the sugar and vanilla until well blended. Mix in the sour cream then add the eggs one at a time, just blending after each addition. Pour this mixture over the partially baked brownies.
Continue to bake for another 40 minutes or until the center is almost set. After removing from the oven, run a knife around the edges of the pan to loosen from the sides.
Cool to room temperature then refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Before serving, additional chocolate may be melted and drizzled over the cake then be allowed to stand until the chocolate is firm.
Serves 16.
