Chocolate Cheesecake Recipes
Of course we all love cool, creamy sweets but these chocolate cheesecake recipes go the extra mile and add that special burst of flavor that chocolate can give almost everything it touches. I bet some of you remember that old Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercial on T.V. "You got your chocolate in my peanut butter" and "You got your peanut butter on my chocolate"? Well, we all know that combining those two great tastes was definitely not a mistake. I think you will also decide that chocolate combined in various ways with cheesecake is definitely not a mistake either!
You'll be able to find chocolate incorporated into the recipes in a variety of ways. You name it and you will probably find it here...combined with various types of nuts, with several different fruit flavors, with white chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, creamy caramel and of course with that great favorite...peanut butter!
I will try my best to give you all the chocolate cheesecake recipes I can possibly find. Please feel free to submit any recipes that you may have and which I have not included here. I bet some of you Chocoholics out there can come up with some great additions to my list of chocolate recipes!
Following is a wonderful recipe to start with:
Rich Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake
Crust:
1 1/2 cups crushed oreo cookies
2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
Combine crumbs and butter and press into the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes and allow to cool while preparing filling.
Filling:
3 packages cream cheese, softened
8 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate melted and slightly cooled
3 eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add melted chocolate and blend.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing on slow speed just until blended. Pour over cooled crust.
Bake at 325 degrees for 55-60 minutes or until center is almost set. Run a sharp knife around the rim of the pan to loosen the cake but don't remove the rim until cool. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.
