Chocolate Orange Cheesecake:
Chocolate Orange Cheesecake Crust:
1 cup chocolate wafer crumbs
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons melted butter
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine the crumbs, butter and sugar and press into the bottom of a 9 inch spring form pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes and then set aside to cool.
Filling:
4 (8 ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened
4 eggs at room temperature
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup melted semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons orange flavored liqueur
1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
Increase oven temperature to 350 degrees. With electric mixer on medium speed, combine the cream cheese and sugar until well blended.
Add the eggs one at a time and blend well after each addition. Blend in the sour cream and vanilla. Take three cups of the batter and mix the melted chocolate into it. Pour this over the crust and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Take the remaining batter and blend the orange peel and orange
liqueur into it. After the first layer has baked for 30 minutes, decrease the oven temperature to 325 degrees. Spoon the orange batter over the chocolate batter and bake as additional 30 minutes at 325 degrees.
Loosen cake from edges by running a sharp knife around the edges but don't remove the rim. Cool to room temperature and then refrigerate for several hours before removing the rim and serving.
Serves 12.
