Crusts/bottom!

by George
(Bloomington, Indiana)

I have a comment! Honestly so many people automatically think graham cracker or some kind of cookie wafer when it comes to crusts...I am highly creative in that regard...I have baked a thin layer of yellow cake or devil's food cake. Oatmeal raisin cookies are great...I have used crushed up nutter butters. I have actually used crushed up waffle cones and finely crumbled up blueberry muffins that I baked for a few minutes as the bottom of the cake...I have used every kind of chewy or crunchy tasty morsel my imagination could come up with for the bottom of the cake...Finely crushed up hazelnuts or almonds make a fine bottom of a cheesecake as well.

Get creative when it comes to the crusts or bottom of the dessert. This part of the dessert can be a fine accent to your baked dessert!

George,

You are so right. The possibilities are endless when it comes with crusts for cheesecakes. I've done cake, various cookie doughs, and brownies as a base and they are all wonderful and give a different taste and texture to cheesecakes.

It's great that you're so creative when it comes to cheesecakes. I'd love to have you submit some pictures for others to see some of your creations.
