How to Develop a Website
If you're like me and probably most people, you've never thought about how to develop a website. A friend actually recommended Site Build It to me because of his experience with this company. I had no experience with web sites at all and he thought this would be the perfect fit for me. Everything is explained in great detail and they walk you through all aspects, step-by-step. He even came up with a topic for me to write about, but more on that later.
The SBI Concept
The following short video will explain the approach that SBI uses in helping others learn how to develop a website:
The whole idea of SBI is to take something that you know or are interested in and learn how to develop a website around it. This could be a business, a hobby or anything else of interest to you. You build quality pages with lots of content, start to attract traffic and eventually begin to earn some income from your website.
How I Chose My Topic
My original website was going to be about Bonaire, an island in the southern Caribbean. After doing some keyword research, I decided to put that site off for awhile and start the cheesecake site first. This was going to be my "practice site" before starting my other one. I started it in December 2008, after buying two sites through a special deal in November.I figured that a recipe site would be a much easier idea to work with when I was already going out of my comfort zone by even thinking about creating one site let alone two.
Website traffic
This past month the average amount of visitors per day to my site was over 600 and I hit an all time high day of over 2600 visitors. At this point I'm monetizing my site with google adsense and plan to add affiliate links soon. Each month my income has been slowly increasing and this month I've already made well over $200.00. I know I can't live off this amount of money but it's a nice supplement to my salary form my full-time job.

SBI Advantages:
By purchasing through SBI, you receive your website name, tools for research, support services, templates, step by step instructions and friendly forums among other things. The company doesn't throw you into something new without guidance and takes you through the whole process step by step. You can go back as often as you need to grasp certain concepts before moving on to the next step in the process. A big plus for me was the "blockbuilder" template that enables you to develop your pages without knowing any html or other technical things. This was good for me because I didn't have a clue about how to go about it on my own. What I've learned through this whole process is that if I can do it, anyone can. I don't want to mislead you, it's a lot of work, but it's so much fun and so satisfying to see your site build before your eyes, that I think anyone would find enjoyment from building their own site.
